In order to create new custom fields in Opus 2, users must add the field(s) to an existing Document Type (see article on Creating a new Document Type, if the appropriate type does not yet exist in the Opus 2 Admin > Metadata page).

In the Opus 2 Admin > Metadata page, click on Edit next to an existing Document Type, then click on Add Field to add the custom metadata field(s). Fields can be added to multiple Types.

A blank box will be added to the bottom of the existing fields; scroll down if necessary.

Type in the desired name for the field in the blank box and select the appropriate Type from the drop-down options. Hit Apply.
