Start Livenote
You’ll need to have a Case as a repository to hold your transcripts.
To create a new Case… Click New and name your new case.
Or… if you’ve previously created a Case.. just click
Import a (TXT) transcript
Click Transcript -> Click Import…
Drill down to the TXT transcript and select it (by double-clicking on the name) for import
Tip: I take the opportunity to copy the TXT filename prior to double-clicking to select the transcript for import.
Click Continue
Click OK
Livenote then imports the transcript…. First page of transcript is shown in main section of window.
Export the transcript to PTF format
Right-click the transcript listed in the top LHS corner of the window -> Click Export…
IF the original TXT filename does not contain any spaces
THEN
control-V to paste the original TXT filename into the File name field;
click Save
ELSE
Click Save
Delete the transcript from the Case in Livenote
The following ‘delete’ step is optional… I prefer to do this to avoid confusing myself (with multiple conversions) on which transcripts have been converted and which have not.
Right-click the transcript listed in the top LHS corner of the window -> Hold the SHIFT key and Click Delete
Keep holding the SHIFT key down and click OK
The transcript is deleted from Livenote
If the original TXT contained spaces in its filename then you jwill now want to rename the default ‘xscript’ filename on the PTF set by the Livenote exporter, to be the same name as the original TXT.
